Could someone tell me what exactly is the rule related to Provident Fund coverage for the teachers of a Private School (new school to be affiliated to CBSE, with a staff strength of 9)? Do part-time teachers who visit weekly once, with a period of appointment till March 31, also need to be given provident fund facility? The school exists on the premises of a software company, run by the same management, but has nothing to do directly with the said company. It has its own building and land earmarked for it. Will this make it mandatory for the school to abide by any of the rules pertaining to the Company?

Dear Mathew,
There is no different rule for schools. If the number of persons (including teachers, clerks, peons, cashiers, accountants) is more than 20, you are covered under the EPF Act. If the software company is covered under the EPF Act, then the said schools are also covered under the EPF Act from the date of setup.
If not, then the number of employees of both firms will be counted to 20 for coverage under the EPF Act.
