Dear all,

Enclosed is the zip file for your reference. You can use it according to your organization. The usage includes updating attendance, salary, and verification.

- In the salary statement, select all (Ctrl+A), copy, and paste special as values.
- Now, go to the Word document, open it, click "yes" to update the database. Proceed to Mailings in the document (for OFF-07 users), change the company name logo at your convenience, click on "finish and merge," select "send mail messages," and click "ok."

This completes the operation for salary statement, attendance, and payslip generation.

Please clear me on the below-mentioned points: How is it calculated? Is there any mandatory percentage formula from the Government of India, like x% of CTC is basic, x% of basic for PF, x% of HRA, x% of other allowances?

My company deducts PF from my CTC; how is it calculated then? My company provides education and many other allowances on the payslip. Are there any percentage schemes? If yes, how can I include them in an Excel file?

Please let me know at a2287884@yahoo.com.

Dear Sir,

I need some information on PF:

- What should be the minimum salary from which the PF is mandatory?
- What should be the maximum salary when PF becomes optional?
- What should be the employee strength of the organization when PF becomes mandatory?

If anyone can give me information on the PF.

Regards,
Swaroop

Dear a2287884,

There is no mandatory percentage mentioned by GOI, but GOI has stated a few rules/Acts like the Minimum Wages Act, Labour Welfare Act, and others for salary schemes. All companies will follow these rules based on the nature of work.

You have mentioned that your company deducts PF from your CTC (Cost To Company) according to the company policy.

CALCULATION OF YOUR CTC:

The CTC structure, I believe you have these details because every company will provide this information in the offer letter.

Dear Swaroop,

The minimum employee strength must be 20 to start PF for an organization. If the Basic is more than 6500 for all the employees in the organization, then the company will file a nil return.

Dear Mani,

Thanks for the immediate reply. I thought the minimum wage is Rs 3500/- for the gross salary. When you mention 6500, does the basic constitute 55% of the gross salary? I understand that PF is applicable for salaries ranging from a minimum of Rs 3500/- gross to Rs 6500/- gross. Please guide me as it is confusing.

Regards,
Swaroop

The two XLS files are very useful for any organization, whether small or big. However, the other two DOC files could not work, maybe due to the absence of XLSM database or otherwise. Thanks for the working Excel file.
