Dear all,

My name is Harpreet Lamba, and I am currently employed at a private limited company in the mutual fund industry. My joining date was 19th January, and I will be going on maternity leave on 20th October. I will complete my ninth month at the company on 19th October. I am a permanent employee at the company with a CTC of 7500/-, and I receive 6422/- in hand.

I have a question regarding my eligibility for maternity benefits as I have not completed one year at the company yet. Could you please confirm if I am eligible for maternity benefits, and if so, how much pay I will receive during my maternity leave?

Thank you and regards,
Harpreet Lamba

You are eligible. You should have served in the organisation for only 80 days. You will get the total salary what you are getting now.

Hi,

Effective October 2008, the number of days for maternity benefit eligibility is reduced to 70 days. If you have worked for a minimum of 70 days in the preceding 12-month period, you will be eligible for maternity benefits under the ESIC Act.
