There is doubt about the authenticity of this. Don't believe everything you read.
Look at the photos, there is a phone sitting on the seat intact. The battery from another phone on the floor is also intact; if it caused the problem, it would have been shattered. Something more serious is likely to have caused this damage, not a cell phone.

This is just an alert for everyone. It is up to you whether or not you follow it. It is better to be careful rather than researching.
FYI, I have personally experienced these kinds of battery explosions on a larger scale like UPS batteries when the temperature shoots up. No doubt or surprise, it is a general property of batteries.
