I want to know that which law governs leave and licence agreement.Does it come within the perview of rent control acts.Is leave and licence agreement valid all over india or only in state of maharashtra.

Dear Henna,
The Leave and License Agreement if executed in maharahstra relating to a property in maharashtra would be governed by the maharashtra Rent Control Act. However, if the transaction falls under certain exemptions (section 3) then this Act will not govern it and one would have to look at the Easementary Act for understanidng parties rights.
