Hi, my employer is deducting Provident Fund from my salary (both my share and their own share) but is not depositing the amount deducted into my Provident Fund account. What can be done to rectify this?

Please advise on the appropriate steps to address this issue. Thank you.

First of all, the employer is not expected to deduct his share of contribution from the employee's salary. Secondly, ensure that the employer does not deposit the PF amounts deducted. If you are sure that PF is not remitted, the PF authorities are to take action. If you file a complaint, the matter will be taken up by the authorities. Approach the Regional/Sub-Regional office to which you are attached.

You should file an application with the concerned PF Commissioner under the provision of RTI Act and demand for your updated balance. After receiving the reply from PF office, you can file the complaint before the concerned authority.
