Dear Shalini Singh,
Your article is very well-written. I wish I had seen this much earlier. You have solicited feedback (many years have passed during which time no discussion has taken place), and with fervor, I hope I am presenting my views. As I read the article, I find that you have placed greater emphasis on WHAT IT MEANS TO BE EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT rather than WHAT EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE is. Thus, you have made a nice departure off the beaten track, as many choose to describe the five features of Emotional Intelligence and stop at that. The linkage with leadership has been brought out very well. Only in the last paragraph, you have stressed the first two attributes, namely Self-Awareness and Self-Control. The merits and demerits of EI are also candidly brought out. Two pages are too short, but for which you might have shared even more details. On the whole, you have presented a very good unique article.
