A=Peter B=Paul C=Pam D=Pat
Statements:
A=B+1
D=C+1
A+B=C+D+10
A+B+C+D=60
A= ?
B = A - 1
D = C +1
A + (A - 1) = C + (C + 1) + 10
2A - 1 = 2C +11
2A = 2C + 12
A = C + 6
C = ?
A = C + 6
D = C + 1
B = C + D + 10 - A
B = C + C+1 + 10 - (C + 6)
B = 2C + 11 - C - 6
B = C + 5
C = 60 - (C+6) - (c+5) - (C+1)
C = 60 - 6 -c -C - 5 - C - 1
C = 48 - 3C
4C = 48
C = 12
A = 12 + 6 = 18
Peter = 18 picked
Tnx,
Prakash
