I had a query in case you can help.
Are there any specific rules for leaves for employees/consultants on contract, as to how many leaves can he/she be given during the contract period, and my main query is CAN THESE LEAVES BE CARRIED FORWARD or ENCASHED similar to employees on rolls in case of these contract employees when the contract is being renewed?
My contract employees at Project manager Level are gnerally on a Year long contract.

Hi
I am new to this Network and find it rather interesting. I currently work for an International NGO in Central Asia. We do employ consultants on a regular basis for periods ranging from 1 - 3 months. They are compensated on actual work days with a six day work week. so it is no work, no pay. However the national staff are also hired on contracts since their longevity is based on the duration of a project. So for a one year contract, we offer 17 working days of annual leave but only 5 days can be carried forward to the next year. A/L balance at the end of contract is encashable.
We international staff are also on contracts and A/L is granted as follows:
15 days for 1st 5 years of service, 20 days for 5-10 years; and 30 days for more than 10 years. These are regular contracts and can be terminated at will with 2 month's notice.
Hope this helps

Hi All,
Our Ex General manager was retired during 2003 was taken on contract basis soon after his retirement. Initially the contract was for a period of 2 years and the same has expired last month. We propose to renew his contract for further period. He was told to take a break for 15-20 days for renewal of his contract. I will appreciate if anyone can help me with the following.
2) Whether he is entitled for any leave / Medical benefits/ Insurance etc.
3) What is the maximum duration (contract period) that can be given to him at one stretch.
3) Application of deemed employee in this case.
4) What are the other points to be considered while issuing a contract letter, to safeguard the company's interest.
