You haved not mentioned the occassion, affordability of the company, Budget and further implications are that if you give the gifts in your department don't you think that other sections / departments / units will also demand / request for the same. If you are OK for every thing:
*Normally household items
*mementos
*items which can be used regularly
*some times T shirts / Jerkins with company logos like this you can issue

We have retained a Gifting expert (Yes! there is a person like that who specializes in sourcing the right gift at the right cost!!) who helps us with our various needs through the year. Since we are a Real Estate firm the people who we send gifts to range right from peons working in Banks & Municipal council offices to Chairmen of leading Financial/Architectural/Law/Liaison firms in the city. And she manages to get the right gift/s depending on the feedback we give her on people's backgrounds. And all the gifts can be different too!!

If the Company's policy is not to give gift vouchers and since it is a get to gather , bring some fun and conduct games and give prizes in a manner that all get some thing to take home.
