2. Resources - research materials

Dear Phil,
Doing a strategic planning is a job of your top management. Teaching anyone on what is strategic planning is one thing and making managers of company to understand how their company has done strategic planning is another. Therefore, I recommend you approaching your top management or strategic planning cell on conducting training on strategic planning.
Roughly tools of strategic planning are environment analysis, organisational analysis through SWOT analysis, Michael Porter's 5S, McKinsey's 7S etc.
The most important past of this training is covering a topic that differentiates between operational efficiency and strategy. Both are quite different and former is often mistaken as latter.
Lot of books and material on the internet is available on strategic planning. However, customisation to your requirement is key element.
This training module is for matured managers and seniority of the managers should not be mistaken for the maturity.
Ok...

If you are into recruitment, you will need to do proper study and analysis of the situation and the requirements of your unit. Make it sure that you have got the tools ready to tackle turnover and employees issues. I have faced it, so i would suggest you to go with a psychological analysis of the manpower before preparing any specific training schedules, or activities. Picking up redundant modules would make you land on chaotic surface or situation, whichever applies.
