As per EPFO circular dated 1st December 2017, the EPFO has stated that the establishment granted exemption or granted relaxation under the Employees' Provident Funds & Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 or the Employees' Provident Funds Scheme, 1952 are now directed to file their monthly and annual returns online in the prescribed proforma by 25th of the month, instead of 15th of the month previously, following that to which it relates to. Further, establishments who have been granted exemption from Regional PF Commissioner for individual employees shall also file their monthly and annual returns in the prescribed proforma online. It is also been clarified that the phrase "25th of the month following that to which it relates" means that the online returns for the wage month should be filed by 25th of the month following the wage month.
