Is it legal to put question mark (?) in attendance book, if any employee didn’t sign in time? Please give your opinion.

any inspection agency auditor or labor inspector has right to raise the query on non signature .........that "?" sign represents the query itself against employer

The statutory records of Attendance register, should comply with the entries as per the format.
There is no issue if the question mark is put in pencil as a temporary sign pending clarification from the employee about non- signing and after receiving same TT should be erased.
However, you may like to check , legal requirements in this regard in Bangladesh.

A temporary mark in pencil can be made, however it is better to clarify non punching in writing from the employee, and make necessary entries.
