one of my friend met with an accident in company while working, he was working past 20 yrs.recently due to pay hike to 20,000/- they cancelled ESI. he had two children studying high school.i would like to know the death benefits his family get.if employer did not give compensation whom should contact.this guidance will be very help their family

Dear Raghu, What was his nature of employment - manual, clerical, supervisory, managerial, technical? Also, pl give an exact narration of the accident.

An accident in the place of work is assumed to be in course of employment and therefore covered under employee compensation act (earlier called workman compensation act ). Therefore he will get compensation from the company. The amount depends on age, salary, etc.
