No, they are giving this letter this time only and stating reason of COVID and even HR just sending the letter on our email id, no communication with the employee.
In that letter, they are mentioning the reason of COVID -19. and Requesting to submit company asset also like laptop etc. and mentioning that this they are reducing staff on temporary basis and they will re - evaluate the continuation of CLWP time to time and the same shall be communicated to you in advance.

Hi Sonia,
This compensatory leave of 2 months can be decoded as follows - its a complete eye wash as they proceed with Layoff's of employees on the grounds of COVID-19.
Its is not possible that company gives compensatory leaves of "2 months" on one hand and on the other taking back employee assets like Laptop, Id card etc.
The ideal way of justifying a reduction in cost could have been giving few unpaid days off and/or making some deductions in salary however still letting employees work from home.
Good luck to you!

What would happen if you don't hand over these assets as specified by them. Why you have an apprehension that they may not call you back. Any imminent downsizing of workforce is being floated in the office??
