According me you have to serve two month of notice period because you have to read appointment letter with company policies. In most of the appointment letter there is clause that company can change/Modify it's policy and which be applicable to all employees.
Sr pls correct me if I am wrong.

Hello Hemant,
White Eagle is right.
In fact the policy that came into effect last month would also have a clear mention of how the changed rule applies to Appointment Letters issued earlier--only the wordings may vary.

Dear Hemant,
Pls clarify as to which policy is in place, your appointment leter notice period or Seperation Policy....
In case your seperation policy is place, then you have no option but to serve your 2 months notice period....
Incase you have a choice between your appointment letter notice period and Sepertion policy's notice period, then i would suggest that you go for the appointment letter's notice period...
I would also recommend you to talk to your HR guys or boss for futher clarification....
