hai shaina,
There is no difference bet MPm and MBA.In MPM u will read only HR in the two year but in MBA your first year will be on general management and other managements like marketiong, finance HRM.and in the second year u have to take a specialization as per ur choice.so if u intrested only in HR then MPM is good. but if u want to know about other managements along with HR MBA wiil be good for you.

Hello,

I feel that since you are still in the right learning age and stage, you should do a regular (full time) M.B.A. and from a reputed institute. It will broaden your vision about the whole issue of organization, management and HR.

This is NOT to say that doing MPM is bad but in my relatively long association with the profession and with management education, I find that MPM inputs will easily make you a good functionary and your developing managerial perspectives will be left to your own skills in life. On the other hand, MBA will give a lot of good conceptual inputs that will help you develop managerial perspectives in a shorter frame of time and with relative ease.

Asto the distant learning courses my experience is limited though I am of the view that a face to face interaction with teachers, professionals (visiting faculties) and fello students facilitates learning.

I have not understood your not wanting to do a regular MBA and rather spending the same time (two years) on MPM!

If you need to interact more on this subject, call!

Best of luck and regards.

HI
I am doing MPM, and it's a great course, You should go for MBA if you can, because still you are young and MBA will give you a boost for next job.
Otherwise MPM is the best option than DBM if you are planning for HR.
since 100 % syllabus is for HR.
While taking admission to any institute you should check following things
1) Academic Record of the institute / Professors/staff
2 ) Fees - since every institute have huge difference in fees, you need to check it.
3) Timings - some colleges are in the morning and some in the evening.
If you need more assistance you can mail me on or you can call me on 9850199840.

Hi,
I am also a puneite and am doing my MBA. I have had an opportunity to interact with both MPM students as well as passed out students of both courses. The input i get is that MBA is preferred even my MPM students since the students when they are working, realise how important it is to have some knowledge of all the functions involved like marketing, finance, etc which isn't available in the MPM course.
Also i have friends doing the Symbiosis distance learning course and they dont really like it. The exams are not held in time and the course material is not very good either. I would suggest that you do a distance learning course in MBA from Wellingkar Institute in Mumbai. check out the site. Their course has a wonderful course structure and the study material is far superior than most distance learning institutes....
All the very best...

HI Shaina.............. Well I m also confused like you. I am interested in HR only. But not sure that MPM is better or PGDBM is better. But one of my colleague told me that MPM is much better than PGDBM. But still there are some questions in my mind about fees that how much I have to pay for MPM in two years. I want to know complete details of fee. Please help me in this.
