Arpita,
It only means that you can work as a Trainer anywhere...as this ISTD program is recognised by government and ministry of HRD...
This program would be helpful to add spice in your CV (academic profile would be high)though it is diploma program...for e.g this diploma might be helpful for becoming corporate trainer or something like that...and ISTD itself is indulged in corporate training...you can get in touch with the members of chapter you belong to... i.e as per region (state and city)...
Hope your doubts are clear......feel free to ask in case any more queries...
Regards,
Chaitali....

basically how sereously do i take this course and preparing for the final papaers..........

Neha/Arpita,
I have already described the whole procedure in this posting itself...
Dip in Trg & Dev is really useful programme for professionals. Not only for the people in HR but also for other fields..
Arpita, As far as papers are concerned only books wont help you much....U r right that people who do correspondence program study 2 days befor the examinations..Reason behing the same is job and tight working hours...
I would not say that you have to study like a student but yeah it would be better if you go through all the books once...jst look at the topics included in it....You can refer other books or surf net on that topics...only thing is that you should know what the subject contains........because subjects are quite similar.....and one single topic is given in very detail.......you dont need to mug up anything...but as these are recent fundas and ISTD material is a mixture of all good books.....so no need to refer some author's book. YOu can go through some HR magazines....HR practices in different industries etc.....
In nuthshell, Just assume yourself as HR manager/trainer...and then answer the question...so that your answer would be more rich....They really dont expect you to give much more stress on theory part...but yes, definitions by some authors...or some formulas and all..these all you have to read...then only you would be able to give justification...
Neha/Arpita, the greater advantage you people have is you are residents of delhi.........thats make lot of difference.. ISTD organised lot of seminars in Delhi...I am from Gujarat..so cannot take advantage of the same....
Neha, you can enroll in the same simultaneously with your MBA....it has a good scope...it would add some spice in your academic profile as well..
They say that degrees/diplomas are not important...but if one has a good academic background S/he would definitely be benefited....there is nothing wrong in learning and adding degrees/certificates/diplomas in your CV...
All the best and for any queries get back to us...there are some senior members also on this forum, who have passed out ISTD years ago..they would also guide you.......
Keep learning.........
