Hi All, This query is for Gratuity payout. We are a small company with 40 employees. We have gratuity provisions for our employees, but we are not covered by the gratuity insurance company. We lost our employees due to COVID. He has completed 2.6 years with the company. How is the gratuity calculated? Is the gratuity to be paid till the date of working or till retirement?

Dear Yamini,

Better you can go in for a special Gratuity Insurance policy with the LIC including life-cover by paying additional premium which will cover gratuity amount payable on retirement even if the insured employee dies any time before retirement.
