Hi All,
I want to share one issue which one of my friend who is also in HR is facing. She is directly reporting to the MD of the company. As an HR she is also taking care of training. Her Boss recently asked her to find a tutor for his relative who can go to his house and teach computers. Now, she has taken all this personally. According to her this is his personal work why should he hand over to the HR and etc. Although on the other hand maybe he gave that work to her coz she is in training and might know few institutes.
Is this really a issue? or my friend is just over reacting to all this? This is something which happens in most of the companies. But how can one say no to this. Please give your views.

HI,
MAY BE SHE IS MAY SHE IS NOT OVER REACTING.
BUT WHAT EVER IT IS ASK HER NOT TO LET HER BOSS TO KNOW ABOUT THE SAME.
LAPSE IN THE WORK PROVIDED BY THE MD IF ITS PERSONAL IN NATURE. AND IF STILL HE PERSISTS THAN PROVIDE HIM WITH THE VERY SLOPPY WORK.
BUT DO WELL AT PROFESSIONAL LEVEL.
THIS WILL MAKE HER BOSS UNDERSTAND WHERE TO DRAW THE LINE.
THANK YOU

I think that the main issue would be whether or not this request from the MD has interfered with your friends work/job. If it was just a question as to whether or not she knows anyone then i dont feel there is a problem however if the request required a lot of work and was interferring or taking time away from your friends work responsibilities then this could create a problem. the question is to what extent was the request placed on your friend fair and within reason or unfair and placing additional responsibility and work on her, not only above and beyond what is already required, but also of a personal nature.

Is this really a issue?
I DONT THINK SO......
or my friend is just over reacting to all this?
YES I DO THINK THIS MAY BE THE CASE...
Now even I am reporting to my boss, but in office sometimes we discuss / chat many things apart from official work, so in this chat if my boss asks for some information I search for it on net,, or call from office,, etc. But that does not mean, my boss is disturbing my work. There are many times wherein, I tell my some personal issue to him and get his advice.
So just ask, how your friends relations are with the boss..

Dear Neeta,
I think this is not an issue, becouse we must have good interpersonal relation with all at work place this include Bosses too.
Just a Humour See the attachment.

Hi Friends,
I agree with THE HR FOR HR, according to me in most of the cases it will be a matter of how close people will be and based on that one might require help from others and the position also doesn't come in the picture in such cases.
But pertaining to this particular case we cant call it as she is over reacting also because if her boss as a habit of seeking help very often, than she might obvisously feel that this is not part of her Job.
To keep it simple it depends on the situation...............

Hi Neeta,
I dont think its mistake of your friend/ MD. The MD would have alloted his personal work to HR. There are certain reasons:
The HR would have lot of contacts with tutors and cororate trainers.
Though he is approaching the official contacts, it can be taken as a personal request for a best solution since the training is the also a part of HR and HR can advice the best tutor through contacts.
There are certain times where in we react ,but when we think practically, we would understand the other person, neccessity aswell. Ofcourse the position gives the person authory to command rather than request.
Its better to overlook rather than taking it on our head
