About thirty years ago or so, when Mr. Narayana Murthy came out of IIM, Ahmedabad completing his MBA, he had a vision of creating Infosys, when computers even in USA was not so very popular. Mr.Murthy was able to see far ahead of his times - that is what the Management expert call "Vision" - and he gave birth to Infosys, which has become a world class organisation today. Kiran Mazumdar, the CEO of Bionics India, dreamt of biochemistry thirty years ago, soon after coming out of a college in Bangalore and today has created a world class organisation!! Likewise, Azim Premji, who was doing Vegetable oils business also had a vision of creating WIPRO and he has also made it as a world class organisation. Verghese Kurian, spurning a hefty pay packet of TCS in 1947, settled down in Anand in Kheda Dist of Gujarat and was able to create Amul, (using a small product called, "Milk") a cooperative venture, which is now is said to be earning Rs. 5000 crores of foreign exchange!! Many laughed at his idea of using milk for earning foreign exchange.
All these management genius rewrote the theory of management and were able to create world class organisation because they had a great vision and were able look far, far ahead of their times. But many of us (I am also included) have dreams, but it remains as dreams because we never translate them into action. These Management stalwarts were different and were able to translate their dreams into reality. These genius (Can I call "Bharatha Ratnas"?)have shown what a vision can do.
Mahatma Gandhi had a great vision of making India a "Rama Rajya", where every one was happy, free from any disease, in which theft, animosity, rivalry, robbery, etc were unknown. All these were absent in Lord Rama/s reign. But Gandhi's dream remained a dream because we have politicians who came after him were and are selfish to the core. All these underscores that we should have a vision and we must strive to translate it to reality by constantly making efforts towards that.

My appreciation to you for an excellent analysis of the message in my thread.
Apart from the vision these stalwarts mentioned by you, have had themselves had one thing common. It is their FAITH. These great souls had faith in their FAITH.
Faith is very similar to electricity, which you can’t see, but you can see or enjoy the result in produces.
The FAITH of these stalwarts you have glorified as “Bharath Ratnas”, may be beyond their comprehensions, but the results of their individual FAITHS were seen by all of us.
