Dear Valuded Members

I am working in a engineering based company located in Gulf. Currently looking for an opportunity in HR domain for growth. Kindly help me to clear the following doubt; If manpower requirement arises in any department and the department head is giving the deadline to recruit a suitable candidate for any position, whether the HR professional has responsible for investigating as to the position is really to be filled in. What HR tools to be selected to justify the vacant position is a real requirement. It is not a question about whether the recruitment budget cover the position or not but is a question about who will justify the vacant position is obvious requirement.

Please help me to clarify my doubt.

Hi John,

HR Budget and recruitment budget are two different things.

HR budget may include recruitment budget for HR positions.

Manpower planning is the tool, which helps in identifying the the gaps or places which needs to filled as per the requirements of the departments and the work.

If the department head is giving his permission to recruit a new person, that he/she must have identified the requirement in the company or the department.

Generally the Organisation structure is made with the approval of all Head of the various departments and Senior management in consensus. While I feel that it is the prime responsibility of the HR department to see if all the Job descriptions are made properly or not, and on the basis of all these then the new position is created.

So when the decision of hiring a new person is taken all these things would have been taken care of, if anyone feels the duplication of position is taking place then why not discuss it with department head with all the evidences and details to clear your doubts.

Hope it resolves your query, feel free to share your views so that we can discuss further.
