And what about my basic salary is Rs. 14000 + allowances rs. 1000= Gross Rs. 16000 then what would be the amounts of EPF & P.T. ?

Hi,
Since your basic salary is 15000, there will be no ESI deducted from your salary.As your total Salary is above 10000 and as regards to the EPF it would be 12.5% on 6500 i.e basic.

As your total Salary is above 10000 there will be no ESI deduction, as regards EPF, your basic will be taken as 6500 & your PF contribution will be 12.5% on 6500 i.e. Rs. 780/- & as regards PT will be 200/- as per Gujarat slabs (Rs. 12001 and above)

Hi
As per your salary slab
Basic-15000
Allowance - 1000
Total Gross salary - 16000
PF Deducation - 12% of Basic(15000) = 1800 (It depends company to company about pf deduction whether 12% or 12.5%, generally it goes with 12% pf deduction)
Professional tax = 200 (As per the gujarat state legislative, salary more than 12000/-, the maximum limit will be Rs 200)
Net in Hand = (16000- 1800 - 200) = Rs 14000 per month
Since, basic salary is more than 10,000 slab you don't come under ESI deducation.
for your help, plz check the professional tax slab of gujarat state
Prof Tax Slab
3000-5999===20,
6000-8999===80
9000-11999==150
12000 above 200

Hello,
You have to be specific on to your question. First check whether your company has Pf or you have a previous PF account. Then check with your company what % of gross is treated as basic pay.
PT would be 200 every month and 300 on the month of February. ESI would not be applicable on to your gross.
Only thing is that the PF part.. Please do specify the asked query...

As your total Salary is above 10000, you will be exempted form ESI deduction.
As far as EPF concern, your basic will be taken maximum upto 6500 for your PF dedn and it will be 12% on Rs.6500 i.e. & maximum employee contribution will be of Rs. 780.00.

Please find answer to your queries:-
1 First of all you are not eligible for deduction of ESI becasue your basic + DA is above the coverage of Basic +DA i.e Rs 10000/- provided under the Act. So in view of this u are falling in the catagory of exempted employee under ESI Act.
2 For PF deduction i want to know whether u r employed somewhere before this job n was a member of PF. If u r a member of PF earlier than ur PF deduction shall be at the rate of 12% on basic i.e Rs 15000/- and if this is ur First Job than u may be placed under the category of Exempted employees.
Now in this situation also would like to clear hear that as per EPF Act the qualifying amount for deduction is 6500/- and the deduction of PF on Rs 6500 is must. Rest depend on your employer whether as per policy they used to deduct PF on Whole basic or up to Rs 6500/-
For Rest PT etc etc i don't have any idea.
