In our plant, we are having separate stores, purchase dept... To ensuring the ready stock of those safety items which is consuming on day to day basis like, hand gloves, dust mask, goggles, etc. are put under a general category called Min-Max (Minimum-Maximum). Deciding both the limit, say an ex. stock of safety goggles must be 100-500 Nos. If the stock get less than 100 the stores automatically genarating the purchase requisition and forwarding to purchase dept. for the procurement.
For some specific one time requirement of any materails which is not in the Min-Max items safety dept. is making purchase requizition. Safety Dept. is ensuring the avilability of quality PPE's in the store.
