I worked in a small IT Company in Bangalore from 2006 to 2008. It is like a manpower company, which sends their employees to other companies to work.
Usually when employee leave the company, the company will not make it easy for the many employees. Almost 30 - 40% employees wont get relieving order and experience certificate from the company.
In 2008 it got an offer from a branded IT company and they agreed my joining without relieving order.
At that time I dont know the importance of relieving order, My actual notice period was 3 months. The new company wanted me in a month. Even if I would have served 3 months notice, it was not sure whether they are going to give relieving. Hence I served 1 month notice and joined the new company.
When I wanted to switch from my 2nd company, none of the branded IT companies were offering me without 1st companies relieving order.
Then I switched to a mid size IT organisation which said if all the documents from the recent past employer

Half of my posting is missing I am adding the remaining.
Then I switched to a mid size IT organisation which said if all the documents from the recent past employer is fine then they dont need prior documents. Then I joined there.
Now I am working in my 3rd company. When I tried to switch again none of the branded IT companies are offering me. They are asking for the relieving order of all the employers. Even many mid size and small IT companies are saying the same.
Even I contacted my first company's HR and asked for my documents.
He made it very difficult to meet him, after meeting him he said I need to pay 3 months salary and I can collect one of my educational certificate which
I had given earlier. But he said they will not give the relieving order/Experience certificate and they had marked me as obsconded.
Because of this reason I am loosing many offers.
Also if I file H1B Visa from my current company, do I need to show all my experience & relieving letters. If they call my first company for
verification will it be an issue ?
Please Advise. Thanks
