I've recently resigned from a post of consultant at a healthcare company. My job was to screen patients and advice the treatment given by the company. Since I used to come to the company for my job 3/week I don't know what my job profile is? Since I've resigned now what are my rights and benefits from the company post resignation.? Am I an employee and do I have the right to appeal if I am in trouble?

Hello AGDOC,
You have yourself said that you were hired as a 'Consultant'......then your query 'Am I an employee' doesn't jell.
You also work 3 days/week......which is more the nature of any Consultant/Contract employee's way of working. Surely you can't be treated as a Full-time/Permanent employee.
Pl look into your Offer/Contract Agreement for the replies to your queries.
Your 2 remarks/queries "do I have the right to appeal if I am in trouble?" AND "I don't know what my job profile is?" are unclear. Can you pl elaborate?

As rightly said by Mr.Tajsateesh, determination of fact whether you were on contract of service or on contract for service depends upon your agreement. Mere designation of Consultant does not decide the issue. If you are covered as an employee and governed by master servant relationship then only extent of rights available to you can be considered.
