I am very much interested in becoming a soft skill trainer . I have 2 yrs of job experience in teaching and also doing msc psychology through distance education.
Can anyone tell me what are the requirements to become a soft skill trainer ? i have been seeing in forums that such trainers have MBTI / NLP etc certifications .
Can anyone please guide me through the process of getting a job as soft skill trainer and in what ways i should equip myself .

I would like to share my experience as a soft skill trainer. I am working for 11.yrs now with 8.yrs as Trainer. Now how I become trainer without certification.
1) Virtue of Interest and passion for teaching
2) Knowledge on varied subject
3) Open to share the topics with everyone
4) Love to mentor people
You can still do a lot of course as they were not so widely spoken in the market when I started. You can introspect your strength and see where your road lies ahead for you, is it in Soft skill field or behavioural skill or Management skill etc.
You can choose to do TTT (trainer the trainer) program to understand the nuances of training like, preparation of content, presentation, body language, handouts etc to start with and after a year of experience you'll have wonderful idea about what you really want to do.
1) As I said passion and interest are must for being a trainer. Although teaching and training is different, still I feel more than being a trainer, the self-thought of being a mentor will add more value and upkeep your passion for long time.
2) You need to updated yourself with lot of topics from past, present, riddles, comics, incidents and at times you need to know to mix up virtual with real incidents.
3) Training require some of the very important skill which will be taught in TTT program, still you can do lot of practice back at home.
A)You need to know how to prepare a ppt, trainer's manual, worksheets, participant manual, activites and games.
B)You should work on your tone, expression, modulation, speech volume, pitch and pronunciation.
c)You should be vary of your body language, movement on the floor, connect of your eyes with the participants.
D)You need to start in a nice note and end the training in a high spirited note and thus thrusting the confidence level in participant.
E)Very important, you need to know how to answer the questions asked to you and how to say no for something which you really don't know. YOu need to be honest and accept things diplomatically.
I would suggest you to join as Executive-Trainer and learn the nitty gritty of training while doing TTT.

I'm not from a convent or never have spoken English in my life anytime even with my friends in School days, but the confidence level of Yes, I too can achieve is the mantra keeping me motivated.

Soft skills training is more a passion than a profile. It comes from the heart. From what I read of your post, it seems to be there. What remains is to work, and learn from the feedback you get.
Your learning in psychology (note I don't say degree) should be an important asset, if you can remember that you are also a part of a process and not immune to imperfection. I'm not saying this as criticism, but as the most important thing to accept, because it is our learning to learn from interaction that leads to our understanding and facilitating the learning process in others.
I would recommend T-Group work, as it gives a strong experience of understanding processes "live" and working with them. There are several organizations in India that do this, but I would recommend the largest - ISABS - the Indian Society for Applied Behavioural Science. They have chapters all over India where you can begin your learning with their Basic Labs. Their professional development programme (after the basic and advanced labs) is an important tool for both self-actualization as well as having a facilitative presence in situations. It is lengthy and can work out expensive over time, but then, you can keep working with your "journey" as they call it on the side while continuing to work on your career. Another organization that does similar work is Aashta (in Bangalore). I forget their site.
Attending a few Tavistock model based labs would be good. I believe there is a Group relations conference in July. I'm planning to attend it myself.

I am also into handwriting analysis. But I have no idea how to start as a fresher in this field. I read this thread and I felt I could get help here.
I would like to know if there are any job opportunities for freshers?
