I think almost everyone does have a bad boss at one time or another.. However just would like to know your feedback on when you've a bad boss how you gonna tackle or what actions would you likely to take ??
- Complain to the managemnt?
- Quit the job & look for a new one?
Appreciate your genuine feedback..
Thanks

Quitting the job and looking for a new one does not guarantee that you will not find another bad boss. I think the most important part is how bad is very bad, if the boss has a bad temper issue then its difficult to cope and adjust.
But if there is something for you to do your job better ( which I am sure everybody has a scope to learn) then work on your issues first and if you have done enough on your part then put your concerns across the management and see if something improves and if the whole job situation is adding stress to your life even after taking all the steps the move on find another job and this time be more careful about the person you will be reporting to.
Just a piece of thought A bad person to you can be best person for someone else.
I hope it helps in some way.
Thanks for reading.

Boss can be bad.Do not take it personally. Concentrate on your job and be confident about your job and your capabilities. Keep in mind "BOSS IS ALWAYS RIGHT" everything will be easy.

How can one come to the conclusion the boss is bad?. Boss has the mandate from the company to meet some targets. If the boss impose such targets on the sub-ordinates, he/she can not be termed as bad.
rarely, some bosses behave eccentrically on personal freedom or previleges. Those things can be discussed or with the help of HR those issues may be closed.

Hi Pon,
Perhaps one can come to the conclusion that his/her boss is bad on the below behaviors..
-Bullying
-Incompetence
-Fail to communicate, and may not even have, expectations, timelines or goals
-Harassment & Discrimination
-Take credit for the successes and positive accomplishments of employees
-Not Respecting Legal Rights
-Speak loudly, rudely, one-sidedly to staff
-Privacy Invasion
This topic obviously would assist those dealing with difficult bosses...

Hi Nawas,

I want to share my experince. I was working for wonderful company but it had reputation of highest HR attrition due to the VP-HR. I use to have nightmares. She used to insult us in front of others, shout wherever she is standing and find fault with almost all the work we do. I saw atleast a dozen HR executive joining and leaving within 9 months. One of the day even I just stopped going, I had gone into a depression. Today I feel I shouldn't have taken it personally because the company realised it sooner or later and moved her to different profile. It was a difficult decision as she was one of the holder of the company. But had i just stayed few more months, I would acheived few things earlier. Its not that I am not doing good now, But I could have got a better exposure at a very early stage of my career.

You must always leave your office within its premises atleast the demotivating thoughts and consult a senior member from the company before quitting. That should be last option.

The very first thing I wanna know from you ..
On what basis you call a BOSS bad, I mean what you say about BAD BOSS.
Until you share yourself on your query/ question first, I don’t think your query is complete
Second, we all might have some bad experience or good with the Boss but must not forget that this also depends on the understanding on this matter and the dealing/work with seniors. Sometime we found our boss with something that bother us or hurt us but never try to get the actual reason of it or would say wont be able to get the real purpose of them to treat us in the way that make us feel bad.
There are many people who would say that they have had a bad experience with their BOSS but no one gonna say that he/she has failed to understand the purpose/reason behind the dealing they have had with BOSS. They never claims that they failed to know this actually.
I wont say much because I wanna know your reasons/purpose behind your query first
