Sir, An employee retired from service due to superannuation in the year 1998 with EPS pension commutation. Now he reached 72 years. Is there any provision to get a higher amount of pension in this age?

Sir, MY Query is on the commutation and restoration of EPS. An employee retired from service due to superannuation in the year 1998 with EPS pension commutation. Is he eligible to get a higher amount of pension as part of the restoration of EPS? Does he get any arrears in this regard?

The Central Board of Trustees of EPFO in a meeting on August 21, 2019 approved the proposal to restore the full monthly pension for the EPS members who availed commuted pension. “In a major decision, the Central Board of Trustees (EPFO's apex decision-making body) in a meeting held at Hyderabad on August 21, 2019, approved a proposal to recommend for amendment in EPS-95 for restoration of commuted value of pension to pensioners after 15 years of drawing commutation, which will benefit about 6.3 lakh pensioners.

Thus you have a case for restoring full pension w.e.f 2013 and you are entitled to get arrears too.
