hello ..rakhi..
It seems that u are more worried for your placements ...but the situation said that u are right in your action. what i suggest to u is that if u have faith in u and your college then keep patience,,,, the circumstances are there and will go off do not harsh the situation.... these are the part of life ....(abhi to shruat hai)...
My utmost advice to u is that do not depend on your campus placements try yourself off campus....whatever u have to sell yourself to the market the market will not sell u.
BYE..

Hi Rakhi,

Relax...i am sailing in the same boat as you are. I am pursuing my MBA in finance and right now doing a HR project in an aviation company.Their is no point worrying about the placements and as Ankush told market conditions are bad ...and they wont remain the same forever.
Before i proceed i would wanna know how long will you take to complete your course?
I will be completing my course next year April so what my plan for placements is:
Firstly be a part of your placement cell and contact as many companys as possible ....do not leave any stone unturned .Secondly start working on your contacts ,grow your network preferably with those guys in the top management. Finally enhance your skills and gear up for the interviews coz when the right contact can place you across the right person you need to have the right competencies.

So prepare an action plan and start working towards it.

Lastly stop worrying ...i know how worried i was but now i am not...coz when you are worried about something ...you are too close to the problem to solve it.....instead detach yourself from the problem and work on the solutions and alternatives.
Hope i have answered your questions.

Preethi

Hi Rakhi,
I agree what preethi said..even I was in the same kind of situation last year... There were no core HR jobs offered at our campuss but I waited and just focussed on building my knowledge, reading articles, case studies and also met many of my alumni, to know their roles and responsibilities just to understand the job world..
Suddenly, at the final stages of MBA there was one big comapany offering very challenging role of HR has come and selected me.. (I agree that was luck) BUt I didnt waste my luck, coz I was mentally prepared..
Just play cool.. and just focus on building knowledge.and Remember two things
1. "If you really have talent(its up to you), You WILL get a job in the present market"
2. Succes only comes to the people who are too busy to look for it...

HI Dear,
Do not worry, i had already face this condition when i was not getting any job. But if you are confident, smart you can achive every thing.
So no need to worry. And decide where you want to make your carrier in HR or Finance.
If HR so you hv to do lots of study about Labour Laws, without these knowledge u can not be good HR.
So if you hv any problem let me know. If would be possible i will definately help you.
And by the Way i am in the field of HR, working in IT company as HR Manager.

Dont focus too much on placement. Focus on your core competency. your area of interest. If you are competent....... jobs will come in search of you irespective of present market situation.
