How can you be bored when you have many things to learn?

You are new and just have started your professional life; so you have to learn the things as much as you can. You are an HR personnel and im sure you have good qualification and understanding on what you have to do and have set your goals for professional life/career.

I buy that sometime people feels like this but actually, they just need motivation and right guidance on how to learn and grab the opportunities to learn the things that can work for them to establish themselves in the field of work or can make a good career.

Let me ask you few more questions that actually you have to answer youserlf.

Do you really think/feel that you have nothing to learn there apart from the work you are doing or making you busy?

We understand your concern but now you just need to understand on how to invest your TIME and for what. This is your learning time, having work there no matter for few days but cant be say that you are free for few days or have nothing to learn. Until you show your sincere interest in learning that you must do, you cant get more understanding and experience on what you are doing. You have not shared what actually work you are working on or assigned you by your seniors but if you feel like you are free and have no work, need to engage yourself in getting your knowledge strong about Labour Laws.

-You can invest your time (days you have no work or free) to understand the rules and regulations applicable to functions of HR such as ESIC, EPF, Bonus, Gratuity and other.

-You can invest your time by reading discussions here on any topic as you are a esteem member of this place. Discussion that we are having here are real life experiences/ issues that we are dealing with and sharing to each other.

-You can invest your time by practical like I above said you need to get strong your knowledge about EPF and so on, so you can go for practical at your own

-Ask a question: asking a question to your seniors/colleagues can give you lot more things to learn and chances to develop yourself and knowledge.

I have two strong believe that I wanna share with you here again -

“if you don’t have a question to ask, you cant get an answer and if you cant get an answer, you cant learn anything”

“if you wanna learn something in this world sincerely, you don’t need to find a teacher, the teacher will find you himself”

By saying these, I just wanna say that you just need to know WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO and HOW TO INVEST YOURSELF and YOUR TIME.

Hope now you have a clear motive, an idea to work with and answers of your questions/query.

Best of Luck

Dear Asmita, Satish,
Surprising, (mind spelling errors in yr post). Don\'t look at it negatively. B+. You all left with whole world before U. U R unchallenged, NO seniors, NO juniors, un conquerable, U R the masters of yr world. A blessing in disguise. U\'ve lots to do. Start the HR from the scratch. Start with HR Policy, frame the Rules, Activate Labour Laws in your firm, comply with all regulations. (Beware U may not be liked by yr bosses if U start complying with all regulations/laws). Regularise all appointments, PF/EPF, ESI, Leave matters. Introduce proper records at all levels. U got tons of work to do. Don\'t land up as a failure. No one going to direct U to do this and that. Take guidelines from various CiteHR posts, build up library of reference laws and notifications. Draw out charts and Table when to do, what to do. This is yr.job. I\'m sure if U start doing all these U\'ll start saying I\'ve no time even to eat. With best regards.

Dear Asmita
As u have mentioned that u have started ur professional life from the month of January. In my openion u are lucky that u don't have work during the middle of the month. This u can utilize for the preparation of some competitive exams like IAS etc or for the enhancement of knowledge in the area of ur intrests.

Dear Asmita
Please start preparing for your organisation's HR Policy, Leave Policy, Working Hours Policy, Promotion Policy, Recruitment Procedure, Discipline Policy, Performance Appraisal Policy, Compensation Package Policy, Incentive Policy, etc., and keep yourself engaged in one or other activity. If the work commences in full swing then you will not have time to formulate any policy. Hence if you keep ready, that time you can simply modify and place the same for approval.
If you take a lead in the start up company for formulating the policies, surely you will be head of the HR Department in future when the organisation grows in a big size.
Hope you might have selected your career path. Please try to improve your knowledge in the free time.

Dear Mr. S.Bhaskar,
Thanks for your Suggestion. I cannot start preparing for our organisation
1. Recruitment policy as recruitment is done by our GM & CEO, i have no role in it.
2. Performance Appraisal is not being done in our company as the salary is being increased every year on some profit/loss base of our company.
3. Incentive policy we don't have because it needs target and no target are being assigned to any employee.
Its not that i have not tried to improve the way our company is being run but the problem is our MD do not take it as manufacturing company instead a trading company.
If you have anything knowledgeable to share related to HR kindly share it.
I would be really thankful to you.
Regards,
Asmita
