Dear Deepak,

It appears that you have resigned from the job and you are on notice period. Taking benefit of your foreseeable separation, your manager is loading with you with excess work. When you said "criminal", probably you meant to say you are working as if you are under "rigorous imprisonment". If my understanding is correct then you should have given heading of your post as "Excess Workload During Notice Period" and not the present one.

What is happening with you is unfortunate however, it is not uncommon per se. Managers in general are responsible for the motivation of their juniors. Now when junior submits resignation, this responsibility of maintaining motivation level ceases. He could be availing of opportunity to clear some back log. Hence this excess workload.

At this stage, smooth separation from your company is your priority. Therefore, accept the extra work without grumbling. Working heavily for few more weeks or months may exhaust you but it should not buckle you down. Please remember work efficiency increases with high volume. At the same time, find out whether you can adopt any delaying tactics without incensing your manager.

Show patience gentleman lest loss of patience could put you into jeopardy at the fag end of the tenure with the current company.

All the best!
