Dear Citehrians,

I really do not know whether this is the correct forum to raise this issue or not?
Last friday a motor cyclist crashed into my car- he acknowledge that it was his fault on occurrence but the crowd on realising that I do not speak the local language pinned the entire blame on me. It was just that I am a huge person with a very towering personality that they abused me (local language and even threatened that they will get the police and state, as witnessess that it was my fault- I understand the language) and did not raise their hands -though one or two lumpen elements tried to push me around. They , in no uncertains terms told me to leave the State!!!

My point is what is happenng to our beautiful country- are we being divided on language/caste/communal lines? Are we aliens in our country?

Just a point, I am a retired Army Officer with 30 years of service to the nation, Am I to learn 18 gazzetted languages and the numerous dialects? I already know 4-5 languages- how many more should I learn?

Please lets get together and stop this rot?

Dear Sir,
This is the second case which come into picture where citizens of Bangalore ask somebody to leave their state...... Few days ago I read in newspaper more than 50 students from Gujarat who are studying in a Pharmacy college of Bangalore were compelled to leave the place in the same way which u have faced...........by local person........And it was shocking that the college authority supported the local public instead of supporting their students.........Now All students have come to Gujarat leaving their study............. And This situation is occurring frequently day by day in various states of our Country..................
Yes You have used a proper words........... Are we aliens in our country?......... Now every body wants independence...... we can see Maharashtra's Issue, Gaurkha land's issue........ and many more..........
I think we should take initiatives through chr......
TOGETHER WE CAN AND WE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE...........
Thanks.......

Dear Mr Shah,
We have our local forum meets or get togethers and this may one of the topics that we can discuss.
We may invite leaders of society as they have a wider exposure and their voice will be heard over a wider spectrum??

sorry to hear that from a senior person like you Mr Jude..
I have faced similar discrimination while i was at Delhi (gurgaon) for 4 years, it was tough to get adjusted, oh dark skinned!...madarasi... is what i used to hear from local people...i was deeply hurt when my own people discriminated me, treated a foreigner in my own country...
I might have not been threatened to leave the place..discrimination made me leave the place...
We speak of unity but definitely donot follow......
It has to be inculcated from childhood...lets educate our kids and expect a change...

Col. Jude,
WELCOME TO INDIA......we from the armed forces are completely unaware of ground realities, until we or our parent hangs his/her uniform. This is the true facet of our divided India.......we must appreciate our UNITY IN DIVERSITY as well as our DIVERSITY IN UNITY without use of force.......

I was visiting the Sai Baba Shrine at shirdi, Maharashtra sometime back. A few locals were getting ahead of others using wrong methods like crossing from one lane to the other lane. When a devotee from another state(A.P) objected, these people started using abusive language and also mentioned that they were locals & have the right to do that in their state........it's a NATIONAL SHAME.....but them there are a lot of times when the other side also does similar things...it is only they are at the receiving end do they complain(not referring to your incident)..........

Also please find attached a post on my blog( Abhi's Curry and Babudom related to this:
