This is a good posting.
Perhaps there are some exceptions.
Sentences like LEST YOU SHOULD FORGET,
THE ACCIDENT WOULD HAVE TAKEN PLACE BUT FOR........ etc
do carry such words with a positive connotation.
In my view the context and the way we use a word is important.
