Very Useful information thanks for sharing. I dont know why PF authorities are not firm with their decisions. few days back the Basic & Other Allowance circular made headache to most of the Hr peoples as well as to the owners of the company.
Finally they hold the circular. Now in this case also the same situation.

epfo now wait & watch position because of aadhar card distribution agency,, once aadhar card process made easy & fast it is mandatory for epf but its take time

India is a very huge country. Taking and making decisions all of a sudden is not so easy. Hence these kind of things happen. Not to blame EPFO for not being firm on their decisions. However it is a welcome decision as it has been postponed for now.

Yoy cannot apply for Aadhar online. You need to go to nearest Aadhar centre with your ID & Address proof they will take your Biometric impression & Photo & will give you receipt. & within a month (Earlier it was 90 days) you will receive the origional Aadhar card containing 12 digit Aadhar number.
Card is not important Aadhar number is important that will decide your identity.

The matter was debated also with many employers to make it compulsory. Fact is that, as on date many covered emeployees still don't have their Aadhar number .
Some relief for time being for them .
