I don't think it is correct. A co-operative society is a separate legal entity registered under the Co-operative Societies Act and as such the employees of such institution can never become the govt employees with the passage of time.

If your management is making this claim, ask them to quote some authority or government letter. As learned member above has commented-cooperative society and government are two different agencies.

What exactly is the reason of your query ?
I do not see any reason why the management will lie about this. They have nothing to gain (or do they ?). You did not join the company because you thought you will get a government job. So what difference will this make to you ?

From your query it's understood you have been employed by a Co-op.Society and likely to enjoy Central Govt. benefits. This does not mean you'll become Central Govt.employee automatically just by enjoying the benefits of what central govt. employees are enjoying so long as your employer is a co-op.Society. Better refer your Terms & Conditions applicable to employees. Societies coming under the governance of Central Govt. are not govt.offices, they are autonomous bodies coming under Co-op Societies Act or the Societies Act of the respective states.

"Saying"? Does your appointment letter contain any such condition or clause, or have you received any communication to this effect?

Shun the day dreaming or being misled by the management. Being an employee of a multi-state cooperative society, becoming employees of Central Government and using benefits of Central Government employees are two entirely different things.

PS Dhingra has correctly said- these 2 are poles apart. being employed in a multi state cooperative is no where near a central government employment !The service conditions would have been given to you clearly in your appointment order

Why the management is making such a claim intrigues me?
Could it be to tap into the dream of every Indian-get a Government job with safety and no fears of ups and down of the economy.
This claim would make most people work hard enough to avoid loosing the chance of becoming Government servant.
Please analyse yourself all the angles to this claim.
To my knowledge the sectors are totally different.
