Hi, Can anyone suggest me what kind of salary concerns(benefits) should provide to employees including percentage in a software industry. For example: 1. PF - % ? 2. Gratuity - % ? 3. ESI - % ?

salary structure for a software company/industry indeed is either skill based, work based, the length of project etc., you have to consider fundamentals of serving conditions in all the cases they should not become at victims end... also, the real source of work certainly differs from other services..sitting before a computer/laptop and other damages in the long run should also be considered for a better employee and employer relations..
The salary structure can be : let there will be a basic or the sum assured - Rs.20,000/-
and follows benefits.. house rent allowance : 20% of basic pay(rent+other charges) or say accommodation: let it be commensurate to the place of work/ in case of metropolitan cities let it be 50% and rural areas 20% and semi-metro/semi urban - 40% of sum assured or pay band fixed.
health benefits : 5% of sum assured
conveyance/transportation : 10% minimum or 5000/- which ever is applicable
family compensation or living away from family (we must consider for the benefits of welfare measures)- 15% of basic pay/band
value of industry/dearness allowance : 50% subject to enhancement every year with 5% addition or based on industries profits or slash of 2500-/ addition every year..
enhancement of basic sum assured(say cost to company) : 15% for every year of service
Travelling allowance : in case of visit to other places ..based on companies policy/vary according to merits
PF : 12% of basic pay ..with the target of Rs.6500/- in the instant case the sum assured or cost to company is itself more than 6500/- it is not necessary to deduct PF however, if the company wishes to deduct the same may be recovered..
ESI according to the policy of the Govt. better we may take medi claim favouring the employee ..
The cost to company or basic pay may either reduced or increased according to the wealth of company or policy of the company based on experience of employee and other modalities set by the owner..
however, better get your self enquired about more software industry for good salary fixation..
