I am a ESI insured person from 2015 till now. At present I am working on contract. I am 62 years old married person. My parents are expired. I am having a younger Sister who is 52 years old unmarried sister who is fully dependent on me and is staying with me in my house. She is not working anywhere as she did not study. Can her name be included in ESI as my dependent.

In the case of unmarried employee (insured person) whose father and mother are not alive, minor brother and sister wholly depended on the employee shall come under the scope of family. But sister aged 52 shall not become a member of family for ESI medical benefits. At the same time, for receiving dependent benefits due on account of death of an insured, an unmarried sister seems to be a dependent.
