One of the employees joined our concern at the age of 56; he worked for around 1.7 years before his retirement age(Retirement age:58 Years), and he resigned with his CTC gratuity included; now the question is whether the Gratuity need to be paid for his FFS?

Hi,

Gratuity will be paid upon completion of 5 years of continuous service. For 1.7 years service period Gratuity will not be applicable.

Some employers show cost of premium payable to insurance companies in the CTC ( Group Gratuity scheme). Having such component in CTC will not make employee eligible for Gratuity before the completion of 5 years. Anything added within the gross salary form part of salary should be paid to the employee.
