Corporate bonus is part of my CTC which is paid quarterly . I got Corporate bonus for period 1 OCT 2021 - 31 December 2021 in the month of January 2022 Salary .
I had resigned on 21 st January 2022 , The company deducted the paid Corporate bonus after the resignation .
Note : No such rule is mentioned in the offer letter / contract of the employment .
Is this act by the company illegal and can i ask them to pay back the deducted bonus amount ?

What about the poster’s notice period on resignation - whether he served in full or bought it out?

Usually the Corporate Bonus ( Profit sharing Bonus/ Retention Bonus ) is paid based on certain conditions may not be disclosed to employee but mentioned in the scheme. Mr. Umakanthan has already raised a question which is also very much valid.
Usual practice is if any employee spent at least one year with the organization, then the Corporate Bonus is paid.
