Dear HR Skippers,
My name is Ajay Diwedi and I'm working with a Private Limited company as a office Manager based in Gurgaon (Haryana), (Employees strength is 5 and we follow 6 days working a week), our company deals in Solar & renewable energy and we are registered with Haryana Shop & Establishment Act, CST/VAT, Service Tax and Companies Act.
My question is that we are planning to regularize National & Festival Holiday so there will be a no confusion within employees, as per my previous experience that company should provide 10 to 11 N&F Holiday in a calendar year (including 26 Jan, 15 Aug & 2 Oct), if the holiday comes on Sunday then we have to give a compensatory holiday on any working day, but my company director have a doubt on both 10 to 11 N&F holiday and also on compensatory off.
Seniors please advice as per government guidelines which rule we should follow?
Highly appreciate your advices and prompt reply.

Dear friends
The Section 3 of the TN National and festival holidays act 1958 clearly says

"Grant of National and Festival holidays" Every employee shall be allowed in each calender year a holiday of one whole day on (the 26th January, the 1st May, the 15th August and the 2nd October) and 5 other holidays each of one whole day for such festivals as the Inspector may, in consultation with the employer and the employee, specify in respect of any industrial establishment.
Please go through you state Act for further confirmation
