So Dear Hr,, this is HR bashing thread, with a question to HR what ur doing in ur work are u really following HR principles or just acting as told to save ur own job.
In foreign countries, they hav a strict work culture, rarely they need to work in weekends, after office hrs, some 2-3 ppl in our company went to germany,, wat de observed are during the 8 hrs ,, they dedicate themselves to work and doesnt indulge in gossip, for 8 hrs they concentrate on their work with minimum lunch and tea breaks , [here as HR we promote gossip,, u know why,, because u dont leave ur employees after 8 hrs,, every employee works 10-12 hrs, so u hav many breaks, but net work done is same >>> ur main workplace is the coffee machine;; ]
After 8 hrs they are free to do what they want,, ..
Weekends are mostly small picnics for them,, with no foolish calls from manager, who is slogging in office, and asking u for the file, soft copy, or asking u to come in office and do work..
That is the main reason where we lack,, we are not professional on our timings,, it is the duty of HR,, to properly acquire manpower,, whose fault is this the HR, who does recruitment, frame policies.
Who is responsible for the disturbed balance of work and personal of employees the HR... and they are now starting new talks and discussions with employees and asking employees opinion,,
LISTEN
ur employee has a personal life,,
dont exploit him ,,
Dont just work bcoz ur being paid,, think about others,, bcoz ur only one in the company with less work and who like to spend more time in company since,, company is like home for u,, and ur its special person,, but dont think and expect ur employee to do this,,bcoz they are slogging ,,, respect their personal life,, and if u hav some sense,, try to imbibe these changes in ur company, dont appreciate the extra working,,
UR the one who does manpower mapping,, 1 out of 100 stay,, that one is inefficient, 2 stay 2 are inefficient and need to stay to complete their work which according to HR is mapped and can be done in 8 hrs.
but if 100 [whole company ] stay can we say 100 are inefficient ,, or THE HR IS INEFFICIENT who does not know MANPOWER MAPPING,,,,
I know no HR can dare to reply this bcoz they themselves know that inspite of knowing this they themselves cant do anything to stop this,, in this case they work for their personal gain, no one looks whats happening to my employees they see,, ooh what pay im getting,, and other things...

If not fully, I can agree with you to some extent,,,
We have 9 hours working policy / 5 days a week..
As Hr we spend a minimum of 4 hours with the employees rather sitting in our cabin,,,,,,
Acheiving 50 hrs a week work for 12 weeks gets the team a picnic sponsored by the company....
Gossip in our concern attracts the worst punishment,,,,,
Coffee comes to the table,, No Coffee Machines...
ON Fridays no one is allowed in office after 6.15 PM......
5 years I have been with this company.. Till this date niether I have made any official calls to our employees on Sat/Sun nor I received the call from my management..........
I hope atleast I have replied some part of your posting,,,,
If I am wrong do correct me,, I would feel happy,,,,

hi ravi,
u r right. in my earlier company, we didnt followed the ethics what u mentioned. but my MGr HR always used to emphasis on balanced work life. neither he or i never stayed back after office hours. pending work shouldnot be carried to the home. many employees think if u stay back after office hours... u r loyal to ur company and impress the boss.
but my boss used to get complains about my MGR HR, see being in that responsible position he is not staying back.... what MGR HR he is.....thtis is what the boss used to hear from many old staff...
but still my mgr says .. i plan and organise my work... thats why i never need to stay back.
i miss him today. but iam walking on his path.

Hi
But I have a different story in my previous company. Used to call me on Saturday & Sunday even for the recruitment.
If I wanted to leave at 6.00. My manager used to say " Why so early " ?
It happens in most of the company.
Thanks

Thats right Sowjanya,,
There are also some Diamonds,, in the coal mine,,
Even my boss likes to organise our work,,, and even though he is not a management person he is technical person ,, he has all qualities of a true HR,, rarely we need to wait after office hrs, and we utilise our day effectively , whereas some officers daily wait and make their subordinates wait,,
This shows not necessarily the HR quality must be in the HR only, it is in every person...
So the HR needs to imbibe this quality in themselves,

Manish,
You just see and work with people like my boss, and the one with whom soujanya was working, for them the respect automatically comes, and when necessary, without ur boss telling u, u will understand that late staying is required.
PS. Just yesterday I was in office till 01.00 AM.. but i did not get angry as I knew this is once in a bluemoon and was really required.

HELLO,
WHAT HR HAS SAID IS TRUE.
I RECENTLY RESIGNED FROM HR MANAGER POST, BECAUSE I DIDN'T TAKE NONSENSE FROM MANAGEMENT, AND PREFERRED TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND BENEFICIAL FOR EMPLOYEES AND WORK CULTURE IN THE LONG RUN
I THINK IF WE NEED TO MAKE A BETTER WORK CULTURE THEN EACH HR(INCLUDING ME) OF EACH COMPANY SHOULD GO BEYOND JUST PROVIDING BEST MONETARY BENEFIT AND BRAND NAME, AND BELIEVE IN BUILDING IN PEOPLE AND NOT JUST EMPOWERING EMPLOYEES
SKILLS CAN BE BROUGHT WITH MONEY, BUT TRUST FAITH AND LOYALTY HAS TO BE CREATED OR GENERATED
THANK YOU

Hi HR,
You might be sounding rude but you are an eye opener to many HR people sometime we do get carried away with work pressure so much that we expect our employees to stay long hours............or by default we have a mind set which say if a person is work for late hours he is loyal or he is working hard and vice versa..............
I being an HR will surely take your ideas into considerasation........
Thanks for your post.
