Dear Jane
What you are saying here "To Tariq
Quote “I have seen guys getting much much more then what they deserve compared to what they should get.”
Other then a proper grade and salary structure, for an organization to decide what to pay also depends very much on its Pay Philosophy (where it wants to be in the market place); which industry is the company in (Financial vs Manufacturing........ " . This is completely subjective. Whereas what I said was based on my personal experiences and observations and not based on theory of company philosophy as where it wants to be in market place etc.. It simple equation.. two people doing same job in same company but still not the same pay. Reason, guy who joined had a better pay in previous company.

Dear Rajan, The is not turn back.. A company who are paying you 9 lakh/annum has no turn out to have a back ground check on to your track record.... :(

Dear Tariq
My comments are based on more then 20 years of Total Rewards consulting experience – using theory to build practical system for my clients. However, any system, no matter how perfectly designed, as long as it is administered by human, there will always be subjectivity.
As for your personal experience and observation, two people doing same job in same company yet not same pay because one had a better pay from previous company – throwing away all my theory & experience talk, in layman language – please answer this simple question – would you accept a new job offer that pays a lower salary than your old job? This leads us back to the sticky situation of Rajan – the original poster of this thread.
Dear sridharafep & Mahesh
Thank you for your appreciation.

This is not a good practice. Many a times during interview, interviewer from HRD checks your credentials/certificates and payslips. While filling up the form, you will mention your starting salary and present salary for all the companies you worked. It will be easily found out from your experience, your knowledge, education how the hike in salary arrived and if it is found that you are lying, it will be bad for your future. If you say, you got promoted, company will ask a copy of your promotion letter showing the new revised salary. Please also remember REFERENCE CHECK is also done by HR after you joined the company and if at all, it is misleading the statements given by you and your ex-employer, you will be in trouble and company will immediately discharge your services. Pl. be honest always.

As I am to give you any advice but being in HR feels like this practise is very common these days , they will must check with your ex-hr only.So if you have good links with them take them into your confidence.this is still cheating

its better that u deny the offer, and continue with ur current job, bcz if u will share thos wid ur new employer theyll defntly not be in your favor. And IN ANY CASE if they hire u bcz u r the perfct candidate, wouldnt that be humilaiting fr u to face them with such big lie.

Hi Dear,
First of all without keeping any 2nd thought in mind i must say its unethical, As per my experience into the industry the policies may very from company to company...some of the employer just ask for the salary slips of consecutive last 3 months ,some crossed verify with bank account statements too as well some times it may outsource to the third party service providers also..Negotiation of any expected amount canbe doneits all depands upon thier need of hiring any resource as well as your negotiation skills..but prducing the fake salary slip might be consider as an open invitation to the problem..It my gentle advised to you never bet on your career for any damn thing in life..Money can be earned later but if your image may get spoiled in corporates it cann't be...last but not the least as you yourself had created that fake salary slip this may arise the chances of getting into the eye of the professionals...

My Dear FRIEND !!,
Just imagine, a colleague shares with you that he has done the same thing but he could double his salary by this modes operandi. Now what will you feel? What will you do now? next time you change your job, you will increase your risk?
But good, your values are intact, as you have dared to ask this question openly.
