Hi All,

HR is not Human Resources. It's Human Relations. As HR professionals, we need to maintain a good homely atmosphere among employees so that they feel comfortable. They should not feel like a fish out of water.

Hi Madhu!

With the exposure I gained as an HR personnel, I opine that an HR person should be proactive. He should be able to observe and understand the messages that a person conveys through his body language deliberately. As somebody said, an HR should be empathetic but not always. If an HR is empathetic in all circumstances, he would not be able to carry out his duties well. An HR should possess high levels of EQ and IQ as he is the person whom people approach either to share their problems or complain about anything. The HR should be able to make the situation favorable to all the people involved in any issue.

Also, an HR personnel should be able to prioritize his tasks properly so that no important and urgent issue gets neglected and the situation does not go out of hand.

HR is the main role in the company. Only an HR person can handle the situations. HR should have the ability to judge people. They must know about human psychology. HR should be different from others and possess commanding skills.

Hi,

According to me, an HR professional should possess a wide range of qualities rather than being limited to specific ones. They should act as both a role player and a role model for others.

An HR professional is the individual who has direct interactions with people at all levels, from top-level management to bottom-level employees. Therefore, they should be dynamic in all processes.

Thank you.

Dear Madhu,

WOW! That is a long list of answers you have. As an HR Professional, I agree with all the points mentioned above. Additionally, based on my experience, I believe that when you are in an HR role, everyone looks up to you. It is essential to always be ready to clarify doubts, help those in need, share ideas and experiences, and keep yourself updated.
