I agree with Saswatabanerjee’s views.

Presenting my views on retaining employees:

1.Continuous training and knowledge sharing , sponsor your employee for up gradation of skill set, send them to technical conferences, reimburse for their fee for continuing their education. Make them realize that as company you are encouraging them to build their own career aspirations too and not just your projects

2. foster creativity

3. " innovation

4.Open Communication, including fulfilling promises- commitments made. An additional perk is promised but due to some business / management decision it’s not paid up. This can hurt an employee's motivation severely.

5.We invest in employees who are with the company for a long time and this is continuous process. From day one an employee +his/her family's medical needs is being taken care off by the Mediclaim which the company offers. And it’s one of the best medical insurance policies available today. Apart from Insurance companies we personally make sure that the claims are settled quickly and smoothly.

6.We are a leading IT company but we do not believe in “bonds”. With so many choices around you might lose a very good qualified employee if he refuses to sign. Bond doesn’t yield loyalty to company, treat them well ! Have something beyond work also to enjoy – like taking the members on a company sponsored picnic or trip to unwind. Give them few days off to enjoy when project time line permits or when it’s completed.

Knowing your employees on personal front, clarity on what employees want from you and what you want from employees and so on won’t require huge investment but can really go a long way in helping you to retain your employees.

Dear palak,
kindly check out whether the part amt paid by cash/cheque. if cash doesn't matter. you could stand at court once if there is a case, that he has rcd 18 k.
tighten the security end not to allow him & file a petition on him in nuisance case. publish in a magazine that he is no more in your concern & your concern is no more responsible for his business moves.
This will create an different impact on his profile & on his new company.
different cases to be dealt differently.
