Dear All,
Thank you very much for restarting the discssion.
Requesting other members to come forward with some more inputs.
@ Dipil,
You presentation has detailed information thank you very much.
@ Raghu and Kanathan,
Based on the discussion with one of my coleague, working in this HVAC systems, many buildings not provided with sensors inside the ducts, even they have Fire alam system. If sensors not provided in the ducts,. The fire dampers will be provided with lead at the springs, this is purely mechanical system. IThis lead will melt at high temperatures and then the fire dampers will close. Normally in most of the fire cases smoke is the problem and many times fire will not reach upto the dampers then these dampers will not close.
please comment on my inputs.

Dear Raghu, Nathan & SRM
Thanks for your detailed explanation on HVAC system and the safety arrangements one suppose to ensure in these ducts...
I have discussed this case with our Technical people who were dealing with HVAC system... We do have Package AC System and VRS System... In both the system we are having dampers which are operating manually... Auto sensing dampers are not compulsory and not been installed in our system...
Can anyone come up with the requirement of auto cut off dampers in AC Ducts in any rules/act? If so based on that I can put up the proposal to my management for modifying our existing system...
If anyone come with some kind of drawing of a safe HVAC ducting system it will be of great help... Hope to get more technical inputs on this front...
Thanks in advance...

Dear Dipil kumar,
Fire / Smoke dampers will not be installed in small units like package, VRS, Split systems, These systems will be installed for huge centerilised system, but there is possibilities for installation for small systems, but due to cost restraint no one will recommend. Nowadays it is a practice for all LEED certified green projects.
