Hi Questions were very tricky. All my answers were different to it. Really good questions with smart answers... :P Thanx.
Hi Pk,
Interviewer: He ordered a cup of coffee for the candidate. Coffee arrived and was kept before the candidate. Then he asked, "What is before you?" (Here he mentioned the alphabet 'U').
Candidate: Instantly replied, "Tea" (Alphabet 'T').
He got selected. You know how and why did he say "TEA" when he knows very well that coffee was kept before.
Answer: The question was "What is before you (U - alphabet)". The reply was "TEA" (T - alphabet). Alphabet "T" was before Alphabet "U".
I hope now you understood....

These are the questions which can be found in exercises in Lateral Thinking. Usually, no interviewer asks such questions. Instead, if any of the readers can contribute responses to questions like, "Tell about yourself", "what are your weaknesses", that will immensely benefit.
Very nice post, Gayatri. In fact, one of my friends who works in the hotel industry for a five-star hotel was asked some tricky questions similar to this. Let me know if you are interested in knowing what the questions were, and give me your ID. I will mail you the same.

Thank you, Gayatri, for understanding the story of U & T. However, isn't it a silly theory of questions and answers? It's what typically makes this fun for children. Does it really happen in real interviews?
The questions were not complicated or clearly matched the answers you mentioned. For example, the scenario of a man in a car with the choice to select from an old lady, friend, or girl. The question should be: How can a man keep everybody happy and in his favor at the same time, at his sole discretion in a given situation?
I am expecting some more mature questions/answers for passing the time. Anyway, good fun too.
