Dear Friends,

In my opinion, the questions framed are only formalities. The ground situation is that if a right candidate ever approaches, many times he/she is rejected merely because of not answering such questions. I personally feel that past achievements, confidence in presenting oneself, the knowledge a person has acquired, and the skill level with which he can use acquired knowledge need to be judged in interviews through direct interaction and openness.

Reference checks, formal personal questions, and tricky psychological questions have become routine, and one is expected to get routine answers only. I read somewhere that innovations never come with the best practices but the next practices.

Thanks,
Bijay

What makes me different and why should I hire you? Both questions are interlinked, especially when considering the position you are applying for. You need to focus on your strengths and explain how you are suitable for the position you are interviewing for, by illustrating examples related to it.

Hope this information will be useful for you.

Dear Fellow,

What makes you different? My selection in your company will make me different. Until that time, I am one of the rats who want to win like others.

Why should I hire you? I don't know why you should hire me, but I know why I should get selected. Then you can talk about your experience and skills if they fit the required JS.

Just provide modest answers rather than being defensive and boasting about yourself.

Why should I hire you?
By now you can see how critical it is to apply the overall strategy of uncovering the employer’s
needs before you answer questions. If you know the employer’s greatest needs and desires, this
question will give you a big leg up over other candidates because you will give him better
reasons for hiring you than anyone else is likely to…reasons tied directly to his needs.
Whether your interviewer asks you this question explicitly or not, this is the most important
question of your interview because he must answer this question favorably in is own mind
before you will be hired. So help him out! Walk through each of the position’s requirements as
you understand them, and follow each with a reason why you meet that requirement so well.
