Solve the problem :
Oxygen cylinders in storage will be separated from fuel gas cylinders or combustible materials (especially oil and grease) by a minimum distance of 6 meters (20 feet) or by a noncombustible barrier at least 1.8 to 2 meters high having a fire resistance rating of ½ hour.
This is only for bulk storage, not for cylinders in service. Even at site if storgae is necessitated this seperation is essential. You make a combined cage, have a fire resistant partition between O2 and fuel gases and again sepereting full and empty cyinders and have sign boards (Fuel gas - empty - full, O2 Empty - full etc. ) you are safe with your storage.

You have resolved the issue regarding storage... Now request you to further guide on transportation and while in use... How much distance to be ensure while transporting and while in use... I have attached the photos in earlier reply of the practice we are following.. Is that right and safe?...

For the picture attached by Hansa -
1.The equipment being used for transporting the cylinder seems to be a Earth /Soil handling equipment.
2.From safety point of view, equipments should only be used for the purpose they are ment for and not for other purpose.
3.The Cylinder being transported is not secured.
4. A question - is the driver aware of the hazards of the material (Chlorine) he is handling and is he competent enough / trained for such material handling?
5.The cart is hydraulically operated. The hydraulic system may mal function or may be mis operated, causing toppling of the cylinder.
A simple cart can be fabricatted with arrangments for securing the cylinder and may be attached to a tow car or any other media of transport.

Thanks for the welcome. Yes, I was not able to visit the site due to personal reasons. It seems that I have missed a lot of discussions.
This topic of discussion is very interesting and will help us a lot in developing and implementing a safe practice for cylinder handling at the job site.
Can you please take some pain to find out the details and investigation reports and photos if any of the incident that you have mentioned earlier. Actually the wrong practice of rolling the cylinders and pushing by legs is followed in every industry. If you can share the details, I can use it to motivate the concerned people to follow the safe practices.

Dear Hansa,
the photo for Cl2 carrying is a wrong practice.
The JCB is not to be used for carrying such type of cylinders.
It must be hooked and carried only in cage type of trolley made for cylinder transfer.

Transportation of chlorine cylinder through terex bucket is most unsafe.
Transportation should not be done in vertical postion.
Due to sudden jump of terex at uneven place and fall of cylinder can create major emergency.
Transportation can be done in a truck in vertical postion but with after tying with suitable ropes.
There should be good trolley attached with terex of suitable height equal to cylinder with tying arrangement
.if transportation is to be done in terex then the cylinder should be in horizontal postion with side supports and tying arrangement.
Under no circumstances it should fall to the ground.
