Dear All,
This problem found in Many Small Scale and Medium Scale Companies. Many of the Companies do not issue Appointment Letters to Employees, though employee has worked from last 5 yrs, 8 yrs, 2 yrs etc. New HR Personnel Come and arrange all documents of employees, even many companies do not maintain Personal record Files of employees. it is ridiculous. So, i think this kind of issue may arise.

Issuing back-date Appointment letter should not be the problem but ensure that employee has actually worked in the organization from the same date. Supported documents (i.e. Card Punching/Attendance register/any legal deductions/salary disbursement....etc) r also required to verify Appointment letter. Wrong dates r to be taken care strictly, otherwise which may invite lot of major legal issues.

many companies do issue appointment letter after 1-2 months, but the appointment letter contains the date of joining as the DATE of the APPT LETTER.
This is a very normal procedure and not to be worried about, persons having wide experience understand this point.

Hi Everyone,
I have a similar doubt. At the time of establishment of my current company many employees were hired without an offer letter, now i have to prepare the entire document file of all the employees for the audit next month.
Can we release a back dated offer letters for such employees, if no then is there any other solution to this for audit purpose?
